Onta Vase - Eco-friendly Pottery

Because potters hand-make each piece, Onta pottery is produced in limited editions. Those in the know quickly snatch new collections, which means relatively few pieces make it out of the mountains.

Good For Potters & the Earth - Unlike many modern potters, potters in Onta use only kick wheels and wood-burning kilns. In fact, they've taken the non-electric model one step further by continuing to use traditional hydroelectric power from a local stream to pound the clay. A step beyond simple "eco-friendly" measures.
